Assistant Electrician

Our client is an offshore company that began in Limassol, Cyprus, over forty years ago, in 1980. The family-run cargo ship-owning company soon became a specialist in managing and operating towage and salvage vessels. With growing expertise, they entered the nascent Eastern Mediterranean’s offshore Oil & Gas sector.

They developed strong working relationships with oil majors worldwide, providing well-equipped vessels and skilled crew for effective oil rig support, survey, dive and ROV operations. Along the way, they developed a network of dedicated ancillary offshore and onshore services, which makes them one of the sector’s only horizontally integrated operators.

• Ensure a safe work environment for everyone by maintaining safe working practices according to company and legislative requirements
• Competently operate various equipment and small hand tools to maintain and repair equipment and systems
• Read and interpret design schematics to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems
• Troubleshoot system failures and equipment malfunctions
• Repair and maintain electrical equipment
• Maintain and modify systems to ensure they are safe, reliable, and efficient
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Complete maintenance forms and service records
• Ensure operating sites are kept clean and tidy
• Continually upgrade technical knowledge and stay current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
• Ensure equipment is used per training, company policies and procedures, and the law and use, where applicable, any safety equipment or PPE provided
• May be required to work in inclement and extreme weather conditions
• Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues
• Any other reasonable duties as defined by the role and management

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering or equivalent
• Valid driving licence
• A high degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Excellent physical condition
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Flexible in work times: may be required to work outside of normal office hours and travel overseas as operational requirements demand
• Proficient in English & Greek
• Clean criminal record
