Location: Vancouver, Canada (on-site at the Vancouver office).

Our client is a regulatory compliance consultancy supporting financial services firms across multiple jurisdictions. They’re expanding their Canadian compliance support for money services businesses (MSBs) and payment service providers (PSPs).

They’re looking for a Compliance & AML Compliance Support Associate in Vancouver. It’s a hands-on role for someone organised and reliable, combining compliance support with local office administration. It’s not a senior MLRO or head of compliance position. It’s built for someone with strong attention to detail who wants to grow into a trusted Canadian AML and payments compliance professional.

You’ll support day-to-day AML, FINTRAC and Bank of Canada RPAA compliance for clients under senior supervision, and act as the local office administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Support FINTRAC MSB registration, maintenance, updates, compliance calendars and regulatory deadline tracking
  • Act as first-line support contact for assigned clients under the fractional AML Compliance Officer service, under senior supervision
  • Help prepare AML programme documentation: policies, procedures, risk assessments, training logs and effectiveness review records
  • Support KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, PEP and ongoing monitoring records, and keep records for suspicious transaction escalation and other reportable transactions
  • Prepare monthly AML support summaries, compliance trackers, open-action lists and draft client compliance reports
  • Monitor FINTRAC, Bank of Canada and other Canadian regulatory updates and prepare draft summaries for senior review
  • Support Bank of Canada RPAA assessments, PSP registration and related documentation (operational risk, safeguarding of funds, incident response)
  • Receive, log, scan, store and escalate official mail and regulatory correspondence at the Vancouver office, and track the resulting deadlines
  • Maintain the Canadian entity’s corporate, compliance and governance records, and coordinate with accountants, lawyers, banks and other local providers
  • Act as local office administrator: day-to-day coordination, filing, supplies and supplier coordination
  • Gain exposure to regulatory work in other jurisdictions, including licensing, internal audit support, M&A due diligence and training materials

Requirements

  • Based in Vancouver or able to work from the Vancouver office
  • Degree, diploma or relevant studies in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive)
  • Strong organisation and document-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of AML, FINTRAC, MSB compliance, RPAA, payments, crypto or fintech is an advantage
  • Familiarity with the PCMLTFA, or a CAMS/ICA/ACAMS or other AML certificate (or willingness to pursue one), is an advantage

Benefits

  • Exposure to Canadian MSB, AML, fintech, crypto, payments and RPAA compliance
  • Exposure to licensing, banking, research and M&A projects across different jurisdictions
  • Opportunity to support real clients in regulated financial services
  • A role combining compliance substance with practical local-office responsibility
  • Opportunity to develop into a stronger AML, payments and regulatory compliance professional
